Handcrafted Quality with the Finest Materials
We understand that we can’t show the true beauty of leather with subpar materials and craftsmanship, and that’s why we’ve built our business around a handcrafted approach using only high-quality leather.
For most of our products, this means using full-grain leather and minimal pieces of it for each design. Full-grain leather is made from the entire thickness of the animal’s natural hide. This ensures that each of our products is more robust, feels better in the hand, and can last far longer than thin, heavily altered, leathers of cheaper varieties. By using as few pieces of leather for each piece, we also minimize seams and ensure uniform leather quality throughout the entire product.
Next, one of the traits of leather that we appreciate the most is how it tends to get more supple and beautiful as it ages. To maximize that effect, we use a vegetable tanning method that allows oil in your skin and moisture in the environment to more easily penetrate the leather without damaging it. This is how that vintage, timeless effect is made in old leather pieces that you might have seen before.
Finally, our leather workers pour themselves into their art and handcraft each piece. From our belts to our wallet and everything in between, we cut the leather to shape, sand the edges, punch all the holes, stitch every stitch, and color our leather products in a truly artistic manner. These aren’t mass-produced products with machines simply being supervised by humans for quality control. They’re pieces of real art made by real people.
